ASABA—THE Delta State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, yesterday, paraded six suspected illegal oil bunkerers and pirates in Asaba.

Parading the suspects, the state Commandant of NSCDC, Mrs Erabor Beatrice, restated the command’s resolve to stop crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the state.

Erabor said Mr. Andrew John and Mr. John Matthew were arrested around Ikporbene community in Warri South Local Government Area of the state by the command’s special squad, which acted on intelligence report.

Disclosing that three other suspects, Mr. Chukonfem Ufeli, Mr. Ichigbua Friday and Mr. Obaje Frank, she explained that they were arrested around Kwale in Ndokwa East Local Government Area with a truck-load of substance suspected to be illegally refined AGO (diesel).

In Warri

She added that one Mr. Frank Oweifawer, was also apprehended by the command along Warri Open River in a speed boat with five drums of substance suspected to be illegally-refined AGO.

According to her, a locally-fabricated boat, popularly referred to as Cotonou boat, loaded with crude oil was recovered from the suspects.
