Youths in Okere Urhobo Kingdom in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have called on those allegedly causing trouble in the community, especially those trying to usurp the authority of the kingdom, not to set the community on fire.

The youths spoke in a statement by Mr. Ochuko Akporiaye, Counsellor, Okere-Urhobo, Mr. Alex Eda, Former Caretaker Committee Counsellor, Warri South, Mr. Emmanuel Eminokanju, former Okere Urhobo CDC Chairman, and two others while reacting to a publication titled. “No communal crisis in Okere Urhobo” dated October 31  2016.

According to the statement, the person behind the crisis (names withheld) was not a chief of the kingdom, saying, “It is also important to state that Okere Urhobo Kingdom was created based on five communities namely, Olodi, Itifo, Makro, Ighogbadu and Oki families. The creation of the kingdom was signed into law on December 24, 1991 by the then military administrator of the state Group Captain Chijuba Ochulor and gazetted by Delta State on 14th of January 1992.”
