Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Limited, operator of oil mining lease, OML, 56, said it has attained 10 million – man safety hour in its operations in the oil and gas sector, as it has reached 30,000 barrels capacity.
Victor Okolo, Executive Director, Technical, of the company who stated this also said that the feat was achieved in collaboration with contractors of the company and the host communities.
“Our space is the oil and gas upstream space. It is a challenging environment, where we need to exercise a lot of caution in our activities. Our activities go all the way from drilling operations to production activities and crude export where the pipeline company that we have comes in. All these have different elements of risks.
“In conducting these operations, it is important that all the personnel involved are as a minimum, able to go back home, at the end of the day to meet their families and loved ones. This is just putting it simply. This is something we have achieved so far. “As at September 17, this year, 10 million –man hour have been performed without any incidence of loss time.
It is very significant milestone. 10 million man-hours in human years is a lot of years,” he said.
