A cross section of Nigerian University graduates

Lagos—Caleb University, Imota, Lagos at the weekend graduated 355 students with 15 of them in the first class bracket.
The overall best graduating student for the academic session was Olukemi Segun Emmanuel from the Department of Economics with a Cumulative Grade Point Average, CGPA of 4.84.
The break down is as follows, First class (15), Second Class Upper (116), Second Class lower (147), third Class (58), and MSc Class (19).
Pro-Chancellor’s charge
The Pro-Chancellor of the university, Professor Fola Tayo, at the occasion cautioned Nigerians to stop casting blames on positive characters in the country just as it blamed the nation’s woes on all According to him; ‘’The nation’s problems did not start today but has been an age-long predicament due to negligence, carelessness, impunity and recklessness of many which plunged the nation into her present state.
In his address titled ‘’You are a peculiar people,” he admonished the graduating students to be mindful of their positive character especially in the public as class does not depict true character.
In his address, the guest speaker and group Managing Director, Access Bank Plc Herbert Wigwe, who was represented by his deputy Mr. Obinna Nwosu said Nigeria did not just spend her commodity windfall, she leveraged the income to borrow more assuming that the good days will last.
The Chairman Board of Trustees, Professor Peter Okebukola reflected the economic recession facing the nation and its implications.
He said; ‘’For university education, at the annual meeting of The International Monetary Fund, it was predicted that regional economy will grow more slowly than the population, at the risk of deepening poverty in a region already home to more than half of the 766 million people on earth who live on less than S1.90 per day.
