The Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, has alleged that its members are victims of state sponsored violence aimed at silencing them.

Some members of the sect were killed in Kaduna, Funtua, Jos and Kano while they were on their annual procession.

Houses of some of their leaders as well as their education premises were torched by hoodlums in some of those cities.

In an interview with Vanguard however, the spokesman of the Shiite movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim Musa alleged that those who killed their members were recruited by security agents.

According to him the attack on members of the IMN was aimed at instilling terror on them.

“They want to instil terror on our members. They believe that once they do that people will longer associate with us and we will be left on our own. This will not work because it is our religious obligation,” he said.
