Sapele—The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State, has passed a vote of confidence on the state governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, and the state Chairman of the party, Mr Kingsley Esiso.
The confidence votes were passed, yesterday, during what the party described as “A solidarity visit of several prominent party stakeholders in the council to the state Chairman of the party, Mr Esiso,” at his Sapele country home, where several formerly aggrieved members of the party were also reconciled with the party’s fold.
Executive Director, Asaba International Airport Project, Mr Austin Eyimedejor, who moved the confidence vote on the duo yesterday said: “The confidence vote on the governor became necessary following his ability to bridge the hitherto ethnic gaps in the state and his uncommon ability to manage the very scarce resources accruing to the state since he assumed office.
“The confidence vote on the state party chairman is also sequel to the tenacious and diligent service he has rendered to the party in the past 18 years, which made him to become the party chairman in the state. So far, the party has not failed any election in this local government particularly due to his very hard work.”
