CHAIRMAN, Abbeycome Nursery/Primary School, a co-educational institution for primary and early learners, Mr. Olumide Osifoluke has implored education stakeholders to establish a system that would discover more talents for the benefit of the nation’s educational system the society at large.
He made this known at the graduation ceremony of students at the of the school with the theme; Class of Outstanding Stars, 2016, held at the school’s premises, Ojodu, Lagos.
The Certified Public Accountant and Assistant Director at Industrial Training Fund (ITF) said; “To fix the nation’s educational system and improve the standard of education, there must be a concerted effort to evolve a system that would harness the latent talents of its citizens. A system can be activated and built upon as have been done before.
“The late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was noted for his free education policy. It produced many raw talents; the system is still producing many raw talents as far as the South-West of Nigeria is concerned. That is a springboard from which a national policy on education can be hinged.”
Addressing the graduating pupils, the Executive Director and Proprietress of the school, Mrs. Abiodun Osifoluke advised; “Today’s graduation is just a stepping stone. Face your studies squarely as the only tool that can liberate anybody from abject poverty and ignorance is sound education.”
“Always remember the sons and daughters of whom they are before taking any step. Never forget the moral and spiritual lessons that have been instilled in you here as it will largely remain your guiding light in future. Without education, you cannot be a better human being. Even the discovery of the world is hinged on knowledge and education; there is no alternative to education.”
