ABUJA—THE leadership of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, has advised employers of labour in the country to include casual workers in their Employees Compensation Schemes, ECS.

Acting Managing Director of NSITF, Ismail Agaka, who gave the advice in Abuja, weekend, when the Management of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc paid him a courtesy visit, frowned on the sack of rehabilitated workers upon resumption of duty.

Agaka urged employers in the construction sector to extend the coverage of ECS to all categories of workers without discrimination.

He lamented the practice of including only permanent staff and exclusion of casual workers in the scheme, describing it as unfair, adding that every employee faced the same level of risk at the workplace.
