After dispatching the Trinidad & Tobago champion, Ajagba has an uphill task in his next opponent,  Ivan Dychko, world’s number two from Kazakhstan. “I am not scared of him. I will beat him,” Ajagba said, after watching the East European knock-out his opponent in the first round also.

“He is number two in the world, but that does not scare me.”

The Commonwealth bronze medalist said his next opponent also comes big but he would handle him differently. “He protects his chin and we are of the same height. I can’t follow him to box. He uses jabs. If I can’t stand him in jabbing, I’ll fight.”

One thing that bothers Nigerians here is that Ajagba is here alone  without his sparing partner. He trains with his coach as his sparing partner.

“He fights with his coach,” Dr Muazu, who was with the boxer during the chat confirmed, but quickly added, “what matters most now is how to conserve energy. I am not a coach but it is common knowledge to all.”
