ABUJA—President Muhammadu Buhari has described former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Senator, Magaji Abdullahi, as one of Nigeria’s finest and result-driven engineers of his time.

The President stated this in a message to the family, the government and people of Kano State delivered by a Federal Government delegation led by Engineer Sulaiman Adamu, the Minister of Water Resources, yesterday.

Other members of the delegation included the Minister of Water Resources, the Minister (State) Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu and the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris.

A statement by Shehu quoted President Buhari as saying “under Magaji’s tenure as head of one of the foremost water development agencies, Water Resources and Engineering Construction Agency, WRECA, he helped Kano State to enjoy the best water supply on record.

“Magaji was preoccu-pied with producing practical results rather than theorising, a quality that made him an outstanding engineer.”

The delegation was received by the family of the deceased, Galadima of Kano, Dr Abbas Sunusi, on behalf of the Emir and the Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.
