ENUGU—Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Imo governor, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday, called on Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to take advantage of the spiritual rebirth that Ramadan represents to promote love, peace and justice as well as reflect on the importance of unity in the country.
While felicitating with President Muhammadu Buhari and other Muslim faithful on this year’s Eid-el Fitri celebrations, Governor Ugwuanyi in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Louis Amoke, noted that the significance of the Muslim festival was enormous and compelling for all Nigerians to embrace one another and affirm the trust of our founding fathers towards a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
In his message, Governor Rochas Okorocha urged Muslims in the state and indeed, across the nation to remain peaceful by pursuing peace and ensuring peace, as they mark Eid-el-Fitri and noted that the lingering suspicion between Christians and Muslims in the country was the creation of the elite.
