NBC graduands get automatic employment

Hope of getting employment among the Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates, Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master’s degree holders rose after the Nigerian Bottling Company, NBC Limited churned out 732 graduands at its 25th graduation ceremony of the NBC Technical Training Centre in Lagos.

The Managing Director, NBC, Mr Ben Langat while addressing the audience disclosed that the  732 graduands have been offered employment within and outside the organisation.

According to him, since inception, 5,400 participants have completed various short and long-term technical programmes at the Technical Training Centre, adding, “about 85 per cent of those offered employment are still working at various levels within the organisation.”

He explained that overriding objective of the TTC is to continually train and empower technical personnel in the company, stressing that the Centre is also open to young Nigerians who aspire to build a sound career in the beverage bottling industry.

He averred that the TTC is one of NBC’s commitments to support human capital development, improve productivity and stimulate value-added production capacity that stimulates economic growth.

Langat who maintained that NBC is very passionate about youths, added that those who have gone through their TTC have been exposed to practical world class bottling operations that are second to none.

He said: “In 2013, trainees at the TTC collaborated with the Lagos State Vocational and Technical Education Board, LASTVEB and fabricated eight traffic lights in Ikeja Local Government.
