The Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Sally Mbanefo has advocated for inclusion of tourism and hospitality courses in Nigeria education curriculum.
This she said would go a long way to create needed awareness of the huge potentials and easy job after school for the country’s teeming unemployed youths who clamour for jobs in other highly saturated sectors.
Speaking at the hospitality workshop organised by the Swiss Education Group recently in Lagos, tagged, “The Hospitality Workshop Africa 2016”, Mbanefo averred that tourism and hospitality industry is one sector that has not been fully explored by many Nigerians who seek job in other sectors.
She said that there was an initial misconception about making a career in hospitality sector, stemming from stigma that the industry is an alternative job for employment seekers.
