Commissioners: Okorocha forwards 13 names to lawmakers

GOVERNOR Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, has forwarded the list of 13 State Executive Council nominees to Imo State House of Assembly for approval.

The list includes the name of Mr. Ifeanyi Araraume (Jnr), son of fomer governorship aspirant, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

Okorocha equally released the names of transition committee chairmen that will superintend over the 27 local councils of the state.

The fresh list was made public less than 24 hours after the list of special advisers and directors general was announced by the government.

According to the list that was handed over to the speaker, Mr. Acho Ihim, by the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Ngor Okpala Local Council of the state was completely left out as no commissioner-nominee, executive assistant, special adviser and special assistant was picked from the area.

Vanguard equally gathered that apart from picking former stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for most of the positions, Okorocha, however, fulfilled his earlier promise that religion, zone or education would not help in determining his eventual appointees.

While Okorocha picked the likes of Steve Asimobi and Rex Anunobi from Nkwerre Local Council, he also engaged Professor Nnamdi Obiaraeri and Chukwunenye Irouno, a commissioner in the House of Assembly Service Commission from Okigwe.
