The Federal Government has been asked to hold justice in high esteem if it is to solve the problem of corruption and other challenges confronting the nation.

This advice was given by the President of Sacred Heart, Apostles of Prayer, Lagos Archdiocese, Mr. Geoffrey Nebolisa, during the annual prayer day for the nation which was held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Agboju, Lagos.

Nebolisa said there is need for justice and love in the country, adding that absent of justice is the cause of most challenges that is confronting us in the country.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the plea of the masses and work for the betterment of Nigerians, avoid ethnicity but rather put the country first.

The one day prayer themed: “Heart of Jesus Full of Justice and Love,” the Apostleship President said since year 2000, members of the Sacred Heart Apostles of Prayer Nigeria has decided to set aside one day to pray for the country for good governance, God’s protection, peace and that things should go rightly with our nation.

In his words: “We believe in the efficacy of prayer. Last year, we earnestly prayed for peaceful election and peaceful hand-over and we can all testify that God answers this prayer. Nigerians should not be tired of praying for our country because we did not know the day when God will favour us and take us to the promised land.”

“It is no gainsaying that we are first of all Nigerians before being a Christian or a Muslim and it is our collective responsibility to preserve and sustain our nationhood in peace and harmony to be able to practice our faiths. I believe a time is coming when and Nigeria will be better for all of us.”
