ABAKALIKI—EBONYI State House of Assembly yesterday lifted the suspension of its Minority leader, Mrs. Maria Ude Nwachi representing Afikpo North East state constituency.
The suspension that lasted for one month was lifted through in a motion moved on the floor of the House by Hon. Victor Chukwu representing Ezza North West constituency and seconded by Hon. Onu Nnoye representing Ohaozara West constituency.
Recall that the suspension followed an alleged involvement of the minority leader in the violence protest and breach of peace that took in her constituency.
During the ugly episode, some vehicles belonging to Enugu Electricity distribution company, EEDC and its offices were vandalized by irate youths.
Hon. Chukwu noted that the suspended minority leader, Ude Nwachi had shown enough remorse and that she had as well served the duration of her suspension.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru put the motion to vote and it was unanimously adopted.
However, the House also passed into law the committee report on a bill for a law to amend Joint State and Local government projects and related matters, law of 2015.
