The new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Naval Logistics Command, Oghara, Delta State, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Gomiriwu Ofik, has sued for improved synergy among the armed forces of the country with a view to stamping out insurgency and criminality in the country.

Ofik, who made the call when he received the mantle of leadership of the command from the former FOC, Rear Admiral Obiekwe Patrick Ozojiofor, said, “My movement to the command was one of the several fall outs from the appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, of Vice Amiral Ibok Ete Ekwe as the new Chief of the Naval Staff.” The President  is apparently determined to stamp out insurgency, criminality and corruption in the country. I therefore enjoin the armed forces to work hand-in-hand as one of the ways to keep this country together as one united and peaceful country.”

Those who joined the outgoing FOC to welcome Ofik  include a  former Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Ben Ibakpa; the Chief Medical Director of Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, Dr. Leslie Akporaye, and officers and men of the command.
