Yenagoa—Ahead the September 19, Bayelsa State governorship primaries of All Progressives Congress, APC, some delegates have reportedly gone into hiding following alleged threats by some chieftains of the party, who are fronting for a particular aspirant.
While some of the delegates had alleged that the threats were coming from ranking state party officials, others claimed that other aspirants have made cash promises and other incentives to be given before and after the governorship primaries.
It was also gathered that loyalists of one of the aspirants who is also an influential founding chieftain of the party, were allegedly threatening delegates not to allow a new- comer like the former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Timi Alaibe to reach out to them for votes.
Meanwhile, a group known as Bayelsa Victory Frontier, BVF, in a statement by its spokesman, Ayibanoh Gibson, regretted the alleged threats against the APC delegates, describing same as worrisome.
