Lagos—Scores of residents of Majidun/Ogolonto community yesterday stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa Secretariat, seeking the lawmakers’ assistance in releasing three of their sons shot by a Naval personnel deployed to secure Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipelines in the community.

The protesters who were made up of the elderly and youths expressed their displeasure over the continued stay of the Naval officers in the community and government intervention in the release of the shot victims either dead or alive.

The protesters, lamented that the continued stay of the naval officers in the community will bring untold hardship on them, saying; “They stop us from moving at night, we are therefore appealing to the government to see to their withdrawal.”

The three victims shot by a trigger-happy officer, were  identified as Lanre Agbor, one Abass and Timothy, all tipper drivers at the park.

Vanguard learned  the three  are currently on admission  at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba. But they are guarded by armed personnels, who prevented their relatives from gaining access to them.

Chairman of Majidun Community and leader of the protesters, Oloyede Egbodofo, said it was high time the state government  come to their rescue, because “we are being held captive and now terrorized by armed forces in our own houses.”

Youth leader, Ahmed Aboriota, added that there were conflicting reports on the state of health of the victims; a source said they were dead but another affirmed that they are recuperating.
