Rotary equips public schools with computers, others

With a view of providing scholarships to 20 deserving public school students, 25 computer units to five schools and 2,000 dictionaries to 20 public schools in Amuwo and Ojo communities, Rotary Club of Amuwo R1, District 9110, has installed it’s 29th President in the person of Rotarian Patrick Ejiogu, who pledged to lead with integrity, transparency, competence and team spirit.

Speaking at the installation and induction ceremony of the president and board of directors of 2015 – 2016 Rotary year held at Golden Tulip, Festac, Ejiogu said; “This year and beyond I pledge to be a good example to all, maintaining high level integrity with good interpersonal conduct, equity, justice and good conscience in conducting the affairs of the club with the best acceptable practices without compromise,” as he solicited for support to meet the needs of Amuwo and Ojo communities.

Supported by his wife, Chinwe Ejiogu, he added;  “Our carefully set goals this year are very challenging yet highly achievable. We are faced with limited resources part of why we are gather here is to raise funds to execute these projects. Consequently, this is a passionate appeal for your support in our quest to raise funds for these projects.”

Handing over to Ejiogu, the immediate past president, Rotarian Kosiso Udechukwu, stated that the goals set last year were reasonably achieved due to the support of club members, as she implored all members and well wishers to support Ejiogu fully in achieving the goals set for 2015 -2016.

While applauding the election of Ejiogu and the goals set to touch lives the Rotarian way, Rotarian Bola Onabadjo, District Governor, 2015 -2016, District 9110, Nigeria, said; “our stay in this world is finite, it is not by what you acquire but the legacies you leave behind. Let us endeavour to bring rotary to every household. ”

Make your resources available to the good of the society. I congratulate this club for the solid rotary foundation laid here and wish Ejiogu success.”

The event also featured awarding meritorious Nigerians for their humanitarian service in the persons of; Guest of Honour- Mr Anogwi Anyawu managing director, Sun Stone Nig Ltd; Hon Mohammed Gololo, Member House of Reps. Gamawa Federal Constituency,  Bauchi State; Mrs Stephanie Lin us, Nollywood actress; Mr Casmir Chibuzo Azubuike, managing director  Mainstreet Bank Insurance Brokers; Pastor Kingsley Okonwo.
