Warri Wolves
Nigeria’s only surviving club in continental contest, Warri Wolves are set to fight a survival battle against visiting AC Leopards of Congo in the second leg tie of the CAF Confederation Cup to be decided at the Warri Township Stadium tomorrow.
Warri Wolves are swimming against the tide having lost 3-0 in the first leg in Dolisie. However coach Paul Aigbogun stated that he was confident his wards will progress to the group stages of the competition.
The Congolese club arrived via Port Harcout on Thursday and headed straight to Warri with a contingent of 18 players and 80 supporters. “We know what to do come Saturday and we are confident we will win the clash to move to the group stage.
“Though I won’t play God to say 100% assuredly that we will win but we are doing everything in our power to ensure we win.
“The mistakes that cheated us of decent result in Dolisie was not out of control but largely aided,” Aigbogun said
“AC Leopards are good side with few quality players but we will give them a run for the group stage ticket.
“The players are in good frame of mind as well as perfect shape and are keenly waiting for match day to unleash their weights on the challengers, AC Leopards,” said Aigbogun.
Warri Wolves spokesman, Moses Etu stated that the gates will be thrown open to enable fans come in their numbers to support the team to victory.
