Yenagoa—A group of Bayelsa elders under the aegis of Bayelsa Development Forum, yesterday, said that the state remains a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, state and stronghold. The elders’ position followed the outcome of the general elections in the state, where the PDP clearly showed it had no opposition in the state.
The group in a statement in Yenagoa by its Chairman, Chief Thompson Okorotie, also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and security agencies for their high level of service delivery in the conduct of the state House of Assembly election in the state.
BDF said: “We are happy with the violence-free elections conducted under free, fair and credible atmosphere throughout Bayelsa State. We commend the leadership quality of Governor Seriake Dickson and his deputy John Jonah, who was the chairman of the Central Campaign Committee.”
