Enyimba of Aba are set to ignite their ambition of going far into the CAF Champions League as they face Smouha of Egypt at the Aba Township Stadium.
Coach Kadiri Ikhana who led the team to their first Champions League win in 2003 said yesterday that Enyimba are good enough to overcome the Egyptians.
He said: “We are ready for the game against Smouha Sporting Club.

A 0-0 draw against Akwa United in Enyimba’s opening league game disappointed many but Ikhana expressed optimism regardless of his team’s lack of precision only a week ago, citing his knowledge of Egyptian teams.
“No doubt about it, I am very conversant with Egyptian football clubs, I know their antics and we know their plans.
We have identified all that and like I said, we are prepared tactically, psychologically and mentally for the game because we want to go far in this competition and winning teams like Smouha is the only way to progress,” he stated.
Smouha Sporting Club is a sports club based in Alexandria, Egypt. It was founded in 1949 by Joseph Smouha. The current manager of the club is Helmy Toulan who was appointed three months ago.
