Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka yesterday said the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMeT, has been transformed into a world class technology-driven organization whose operations are in consonance with contemporary global best practices.
Chidoka made this assertion in Abuja, Monday, when he commissioned the Information and Communications Technology centre and Scientific and NiMeT’s Technical Information Library in Abuja.
The Director General of NiMET, Dr Anthony Anuforom, in his address, said the commissioning was part of the strategic plan of the agency which was reviewed in 2012 and fits into the transformation agenda of the Federal Government.
He said that presently NiMet has 54 synoptic stations across the country.
