An All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain in Rivers State, Chief Godspower Ake, has urged the people of the state to reject Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the forthcoming elections because the party represents broken promises and hopelessness.

The former Rivers State chairman of the PDP also described the PDP as dead and forgotten in the state.

Speaking to journalists, Ake said the irony of the PDP’s tragedy was that its leaders and promoters were still unaware of the calamity that had befallen the party.

He said: “Today, I can affirm that PDP is dead. We all once loved PDP until the party chose the path of self-destruction. PDP decided to destroy itself and today I can say with every sense of responsibility that PDP is dead and buried.

“For six years, I was the chairman of PDP and I have been in politics for over 30 years. From the day they removed me forcefully, there has been no peace but I know that APC will return peace to Rivers State.”

He warned Rivers people to reject the PDP on February 14 and 28, adding that a vote for PDP was a vote for violence and bad managers of power.

“Power comes from God and if God gives you power, you must use it responsibly. PDP has neither shown respect nor responsibility. I can assure you that Dr Dakuku Peterside will win this election because he is different. We all know him and can attest to his competence and good nature. I can also affirm that Dakuku has integrity, he is God fearing and has a clear cut vision of where he and his team want to take Rivers State to.”
