BENIN—FORMER Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Mike Oghiadomhe, has urged Nigerians to shun all aspirants who say they will end the Boko Haram insurgency in the country only when they become the President.
Oghiadomhe, who fielded questions from newsmen in Auchi, Edo State, during the just concluded senatorial primaries of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said it was hypocritical for any Nigerian to say he would only suggest ways of ending insurgency when he gets to power, adding “You don’t know who the next victim of the insurgents will be.”
The former Chief of Staff, who commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries, said: “We cannot take insurgency to be against a particular set of people or particular person in government or a particular government. Insurgency is against Nigeria and Nigerians.”
