TUC faults call for removal of gov’s aide

By Austin Ogwuda

Asaba—THE leadership of Delta State branch of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, has kicked against the purported resolution of the state council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, calling for the removal of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour and Industrial Relations, Mr. Mike Okeme, describing same as uncalled for and a witch-hunt.

State chairman of TUC, Mr. Myke Arinze in a statement in Asaba, said: “It is on record that the appointment of the Special Adviser on Labour and Industrial Relations few years ago was largely applauded by the entire labour family in the state.
“It is pertinent to mention that prior to his current appointment, there was a glaring schism of frightening dimension between the NLC and TUC in the state and it took the dexterity and large-heartedness of the Special Adviser to meaningfully reconcile the two labour centres.”
