I won’t contest Benue guber poll —Moro

Abba Moro

By Peter Duru

MAKURDI— As the  2015 general elections draw near, Minister of Interior, Mr Abba Moro has denied rumours about his joining the Benue State gubernatorial race, saying that he had no governorship ambition.

Moro said his major preoccupation was to discharge with all diligence, the responsibilities entrusted in him by President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that the administration meets the expectations and aspirations of Nigerians.

The minister, who fielded questions from newsmen in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, said: “I am not contesting in the governorship election because I cannot at this time engage in any venture that would create a distraction to the responsibilities I owe my principal and the duties he has assigned to me on behalf of Nigerians.
“Nigeria is passing through a critical moment in its history and this requires that every Nigerian rallied round the President to enable him lead the country out of these challenges.”
