WARRI— IJAW youth leader and activist, Mr. Paul Bebenimibo, has said the former Minister of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe, is not the only Ijaw governorship aspirant for the 2015 governorship election in Delta State.

Bebenimibo, reacting to the endorsement of Orubebe by the Delta Izon Congress, DIC, an Ijaw group, in Bomadi, said: “I wish to state that Elder Orubebe is not the sole Ijaw aspirant for the Delta 2015 gubernatorial election. There are other Ijaw people that will still indicate interest to contest the election.

“Some of us know Orubebe’s antics. A man that cannot even make peace with someone like foremost Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, because of a mere party local government chairman, and has since been in the court. I just do not know what he wants.”
Another Warri-based Ijaw activist, Mr. Austin Ozobo, said the ex-minister should give account of his stewardship, “as no project was completed and commi-ssioned during his tenure.”

DIC is led by a former military administrator of Niger State, Brig. General Cletus Emein (rtd.).
The group was set up to work for the emergence of an Ijaw son as governor of the state in 2015.
