TheGreater Tomorrow Foundation, a charity-based organisation has flagged off its operation-feed the children campaign with a feeding session for pupils of St Paul’s Primary School in Costain, Lagos.

The feeding session which took place yesterday at the school’s premises saw the foundation donating a variety of food items, comprising noodles, sphagettis, fruit juice drinks, biscuits and snacks saw the pupils being handed their own gift packs by the school’s head teacher cum head mistress, Mrs Grace Jalekun, who presented the gifts on behalf of the foundation, founded by Paul Okoku, with active support of Eagles coach Stephen Keshi.

Speaking before handing out the items to the joyous kids, Mrs Jalekun said that the Greater Tomorrow Foundation made the donation in commemoration of Children’s Day on May 27 and World Hunger’s Day on May 28, which fall under the purview of the organisation’s mission to help feed less-privileged kids in the society.

Noting that even before the launch of the foundation last month in Abuja that Okoku and Keshi had been doing things for less-privileged children, Mars Jalekun said it was noteworthy that the pair have continued to stand out as worthy role models, who are concerned about the well-being of children from poor homes.

Urging other well-to-do persons in the society to help the needy ones, Mrs Jalekun said that she was happy that the foundation started its operations in her school, which she recollected was given computers and power generating sets by the trio of Okoku, Keshi and Godwin Odiye.

“Paul Okoku and Keshi are not the only ones who finished from this school and are now doing well in their careers. We need others to come to our children’s aid because they are the future of tomorrow”, she said.

After receiving the food packs, the pupils hailed the foundation for remembering them at such a important time when the world was marking World Hunger’s Day..

“I thank Paul Okoku and Stephen Keshi for these items and pray that God will continue to help then as they are helping us”, said Sandra.

Also speaking after presenting some items to the pupils, the chairman of the Parents Forum, Francis Anyanwu said “on behalf of the parents forum, I give kudos to Okoku and Keshi. They have been helping their school since they left here. I urge you pupils to continue praying for them, especially Keshi, who has an big task on his hand now at the coming World Cup in Brazil”.

And responding, the lids burst into a prayer session for Okoku and Keshi, who is outside the country preparing Nigeria for the next World Cup in Brazil. His team, the Super Eagles played a friendly match with Scotland on Wednesday.
