Riyadh — The Vice President Namadi Sambo, yesterday, in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia,  expressed the readiness of the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to partner with Nigerians in Diaspora to bring development to the country.

Sambo spoke when he met with the Nigerian community in Riyadh, just as he acquainted them with the developmental strides embarked upon in all sectors of the nation’s economy by the Jonathan administration.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to Sambo, Mallam Umar Sani, the Vice President was said to have asked the Nigerians to always be good ambassadors of their country.

Earlier in their separate addresses, Shamsudeen Fagbo, President of the Nigerian Professional Workers in Saudi Arabia, and Bashir Suleiman, Chairman of the Nigerians resident in the country, had requested the Federal Government to build primary and secondary schools to cater for their children in Saudi Arabia.

They noted that such efforts had been done by other African countries like Ghana and Mali and called on the government to emulate such laudable initiative.
They further suggested the use of Nigerian curriculum in such schools, when established and to ensure that examination bodies in Nigeria conduct examinations in those schools.

Sambo was in Saudi Arabia as the head of a delegation of the Federal Government to the award ceremony of Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Lemu, winner of the 2014 King Faisal International Prize for Service to Islam, held on Sunday in Riyadh.

Present at the meeting was the Governor  Babangida Aliyu of Niger State; Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Abubakar Shehu Bunu; Deputy Chief of Mission, Ambassador Tijjani Hamman Joda and Ahmed Umar, Counsel General and other top government officials.
