Faulting recent criticism of Delta State deputy governor, Professor Amos Utuama, by former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, wherein he asked Utuama to retire after his tenure as deputy governor, Delta Central Movement for Justice and Peace, has said that Utuama was free to contest the 2015 governorship election in Delta State if he desired.
In a statement, yesterday, Chairman of the movement, Prince Orhomonokpaya, noted that Professor Utuama was free to contest the 2015 governorship election, adding that Gbagi had no moral right to condemn or stop the ambition of Utuama or any other person.
He said that there were the likes of Chief Anthony Anenih, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees Chairman and the party Chairman, Alhaji Bamaga Tukur, and many others, who were well above 80 years old, in the current government and wondered why Gbagi was ranting over Utuama’s age of 66 to 70.
The group said that what Gbagi did was against the culture of Urhobo people, who treat their elders with respect and as such, he shouldn’t have mocked his own lecturer, who taught him law at the University of Lagos.
