Lafarge targets £450m earnings from construction industry

BY  FRANKLIN ALLI

LAFARGE group said it hopes to earn 450 million euros from the construction industry in Nigeria and other countries where the group is strongly established.

This projection spans four years (2012-2015).

In a statement, the group said it hopes to rake in this money through new services, new market approach and through the group’s commercial excellence objective.

“Our ambition to contribute to building better cities is supported by innovation, which targets ambitious earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and ammotisation (ebitda) of 450 million euros.

“By 2050 close to 70 percent of the 9.6 billion world’s population will be living in towns and cities, compared with 50 percent today. Urbanisations on such a scale will be a challenge and an opportunity for the entire construction industry.”
