Owerri—Imo chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has vowed to resist any attempt by any individual or group to remove Governor Rochas Okorocha from office.

In a statement by the state Chairman, Mr Marshal Okafor-Anyanwu, in Owerri,   the party warned against any further attempt to either distract the governor or tarnish his image.

It noted that the arrest of Mr Chike Okafor, the state’s Commissioner for Finance, and Mr George Eche, its Accountant General, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was meant to discredit the governor.

The party alleged that the EFCC that hurriedly swooped on the functionaries had foot-dragged in arresting a former governor of the state in spite of available records that the said loan was secured to fund his failed re-election bid.

It also said some serving politicians in the state were enemies of the APGA-led government.
