BENIN CITY- SECRETARY to the Edo State Government,SSG, Dr Simon Imuekemhe, yesterday, declared the determination of the state Government in ensuring that the health and educational sectors are effective in service delivery to the people of the state.

Dr Imuekemhe who gave this assurance in Benin City when he played host to members of the Nigeria Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, Edo State Hospital Management Board Branch, said the Governor Adams Oshiomhole-led administration would ensure that the welfare of the people of the state is guaranteed.

While expressing concern over what he described as the nonchalant attitude of most medical practitioners in the state public service as disclosed when the governor visited the Central hospital, called for attitudinal change and strict adherence to the ethics of the medical profession to sustain the dignity of their practice.

While emphasising that the health service is all about team work where the dostors remained the leaders, the Edo SSG asserted that to achieve the desired results, “ there must be cooperation between the various professions in the health sector.”
