The Centre for Transparency and Accountability in Governance (CTAG) has urged security agencies to investigate claims made by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi regarding an agency he says he heads.

In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Comrade Sunday Itodo, the group called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force to look into the matter.

The group noted that the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President has denied the existence of any agency known as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

CTAG stated: “Prince Adeyemi has publicly claimed to be the head of an agency which the Presidency has unequivocally denied knowledge of. This is a grave matter touching on national security, public trust and the integrity of government institutions.”

The group challenged Adeyemi to provide supporting documents, including his purported appointment letter, list of staff members, and details of any bank account allegedly opened with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

It also called for verification of claims regarding financial transactions linked to the position.

CTAG emphasized the need for a thorough and transparent investigation to protect the integrity of public institutions, while ensuring that anyone found culpable is held accountable according to the law.

The group stressed that public office holders must be held accountable where evidence exists, but unfounded allegations should not be used to tarnish reputations.

As of the time of this report, there has been no public response from Prince Adeyemi or the agencies mentioned.
