The Interim Management Committee of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has declared and affirmed that it is the sole, legitimate, and constitutionally recognised constituent organ under the leadership of Ambassador Collins Osazee Idahosa, representing the apex youth council outside the shores of Nigeria.

A statement signed by Buhari Shehu, Chairman, Interim Management Committee (IMC), National Youth Council of Nigeria and Adeleke Adebajo, Secretary, Interim Management Committee (IMC), which was sent to Minister of Youth Development; Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM); Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Board of Trustees (DBoT), NYCN Diaspora, said: “We explicitly affirm that this global body is under the authentic leadership of Ambassador Collins Osazee Idahosa, duly recognised as the Executive President of the council and Diaspora Governor of Europe. NYCN Diaspora operates in absolute alignment and subservience to the National Headquarters in Abuja. It serves as our official global arm to Coordinate the activities of all Nigerian youth groups and voluntary youth organizations
across international borders.

“We emphasize that any group, individuals or parallel factions claiming representation of the NYCN in the diaspora without the explicit authorisation, signature and clearance of Ambassador Collins Osazee Idahosa are fraudulent, unauthorised, and counterfeit.

“Ambassador Idahosa holds the valid mandate ratified by the Council to lead the structural affairs, programmes and diplomatic engagements of the diaspora youth. His administration operates under the legally sound 2026 Constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria -Diaspora.

“Any inquiry regarding the legitimacy of diaspora leadership or chapters should be verified directly through this Interim Management Committee or the official database managed by Ambassador Idahosa’s secretariat.”
