The former British and Commonwealth Light Heavyweight boxing champion, Peter Oboh, has expressed sadness over the resignation of another British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to Peter Oboh, that he had to step down from being the number one citizen of the United Kingdom, UK, is sad news, and the “truth is no British prime minister has been able to complete his tenure for some years now”.

He said: “The political system that the United Kingdom is practising, the parliamentary system of government, makes all the ministers together much stronger than the prime minister himself. This is the opposite of a presidential system of government.

“To me, Keir Starmer is not a bad prime minister. Sorry to say, but I think the new British mindset is over-demanding. It is only an angel from heaven that can meet up to their demands.

“Note this, if the United States president Donald Trump is asked to step down, it will sound as a joke to him. If Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel is asked to step down, it will sound like a wrong prophesy to Netanyahu.

“I know for sure that if the Nigerian president Bola Tinubu is asked to step down, it will sound in his hears as noisy ‘political treason’.

“I, being a British citizen, want the best for Britain. We must all know this; it takes a miracle to get a perfect leader. And the countries or nations that keep taking two steps forward and two steps backwards will remain stagnant, knowing or unknowingly, while the countries doing the opposite will be moving forward and getting better.

“Also, the British political system should learn to bear with their leaders and learn from other progressive countries in the world. Great Britain must, and can, be great again via wisdom, experience and knowledge. Not via emotional move by pulling down leaders and making it seem normal.”
