Chairman of Enviable Group, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, on Thursday declared that a new partnership between TVS Motor Company and Enviable Tricycle Auto Parts Ltd as one of the distributors of the Indian multinational manufacturer of motorcycles, mopeds, and tricycles would transform mobility, create jobs and expand access to vehicle ownership across Nigeria, particularly for low-income earners.

Speaking at the signing of a strategic partnership between the two companies in Ikorodu, Lagos, Iyiegbu said the collaboration would combine TVS’ global expertise with Enviable Group’s extensive local presence to address transportation challenges and empower thousands of Nigerians.

Describing the agreement as a landmark development for the country’s mobility sector, he said the partnership would make transportation assets more accessible through financing schemes, after-sales support and customer-focused services.

“Today is a very special day in the history of mobility in Nigeria and in Africa as a whole because we are about to witness an unprecedented relationship between the product owners and the product distributors here in Nigeria,” he said.

According to him, Enviable Group’s nationwide reach and understanding of grassroots operators position it to bridge existing gaps in the transportation ecosystem.

“We are bringing capacity, presence everywhere, opportunity and seamless access to finance. We are also bringing empathy because at that level, it might be difficult for some people to grasp certain realities. We have the patience to explain how the system works,” he said.

Iyiegbu noted that while starting a business is often easy, sustaining it remains the biggest challenge for many operators.

“The easiest part of anything is starting. Sustainability is the hardest part. We are bringing that relationship with them to make it easy for them to operate,” he added.
He further stated that Enviable Group was taking mobility solutions directly to communities instead of waiting for customers to seek them out.

“Instead of the people coming to the business, the company is taking the business to the people,” he said.
The businessman expressed confidence that the partnership would help tackle transportation challenges while improving customer experience.

“Enviable Group and TVS will be able to crack that problem of mobility and make it in such a way that it is not just about solving problems but ensuring people are comfortable while solving them,” he said.

Also speaking, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Enviable Group, Chukwuemeka Enviable Ituma, described the agreement as a breakthrough for indigenous participation in Nigeria’s automotive distribution sector.

According to him, the partnership marks the first time a Nigerian-owned company would handle the distribution package previously dominated by foreign interests.
“We need to mark it that today is the first time that an indigenous Nigerian company is handling this package. All this while, it has been foreigners who have always been distributors,” he said.

Ituma disclosed that the company had deliberately chosen to prioritise Nigerian workers across its operations.
“I made it a decision that we are not employing any Indians. This time is our time. The factory operators, quality control personnel and regional heads will all be Nigerians,” he said.

He explained that the initiative would create employment opportunities across the value chain, from assembly operations to product delivery and maintenance services.
“We are opening doors for employment. A lot of employment is going to come from the assembly grounds to the last man standing in delivery,” he said.

Drawing from his personal experience as a former tricycle rider, Ituma said the company understands the challenges faced by operators and is committed to supporting them through hire-purchase schemes and financing solutions.

“I started as a tricycle rider. That is why Enviable Group is a one-stop solution to the problems of tricycle riders and even investors,” he said.
He added that many Nigerians could earn sustainable incomes through transportation and delivery services if given access to vehicles.

“A delivery man in Lagos can make between N40,000 and N50,000 daily, while some make more. Tricycle riders can also earn between N30,000 and N40,000 daily. These are opportunities through which we can empower people,” he stated.

Encouraging unemployed graduates and youths to embrace entrepreneurship, Ituma stressed that economic success often begins with modest opportunities.
“There is always a place to start. We must not wait for the government to do everything for us. This opportunity allows people to start somewhere, earn a living, support their families and grow,” he said.

He noted that beyond selling vehicles, the company was focused on building a sustainable support structure that guarantees customers access to financing, genuine spare parts, maintenance services and after-sales support.
“Being a distributor is not just about having money to buy products or the ability to sell them. It is about building a sustainable structure that ensures customers enjoy the best experience throughout the product lifecycle,” he said.

On his part, President of International Business at TVS Motor Company, Mr. Peyman Kargar, described Nigeria as one of the most important markets for the Indian mobility giant in Africa.
“Africa is a very important continent for us, and Nigeria is one of the biggest and most important markets for us,” he said.

Kargar said the partnership with Enviable Group signals the beginning of a new growth phase for TVS in Nigeria.
“We are opening a new chapter with our new partner, Enviable Group. We are already serving many customers, but we need to expand our presence in this country. We need to be in every single village and serve both our current and future customers,” he said.

Similarly, Regional Business Head, West Africa II, TVS Motor Company, Mr. Prashant Sanglikar, said the collaboration would strengthen the company’s footprint in Nigeria and improve access to products and services nationwide.

“Nigeria is a dynamic and high-potential mobility market in Africa. We do not only want to participate in the growth of Nigeria, we want to be part of that growth,” he said.
According to him, Enviable Group’s local market expertise and operational capabilities would enable TVS to reach underserved areas while enhancing customer experience.

“Our objective is to serve every customer in Nigeria through product and spare-parts accessibility and ensure that customers enjoy an enhanced experience throughout their ownership journey,” he said.
Sanglikar added that TVS remained committed to long-term investments in Nigeria through expanded service networks, improved customer support and reliable mobility solutions.

“TVS is here for the long term. We will continue to provide quality and reliable products while contributing to Nigeria’s mobility and economic development,” he said.

The partnership is expected to strengthen access to motorcycles, tricycles, spare parts and after-sales services across the country while creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs, transport operators and investors in Nigeria’s growing mobility sector.
