Member Representing Kaga/Gubio/Magumeri Federal Constituency in Borno state, Hon Usman Zannah has flagged off the distribution of farm implements and improved seed varieties to 3,000 farmers to boost agriculture for this year’s cropping season in his constituency.

He also unveiled a brand new tractor to be utilized across the three local government areas of the constituency, adding to the fleets of tractors and other farm implements he had earlier procured and distributed to farmers across the constituency.

Flagging of the ceremony in Maiduguri on Thursday, which was well attended by stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other teaming supporters, Zannah said, the gesture which is an annual tradition aims at making his resilient people economically self- relient.

According to him, “all party executives and stakeholders formed part of the 3,000 beneficiaries, in which, assorted bags of NPK, and liquid fertilizers were distributed to individual (s), Farmers Associations among others.

“Also distributed are liquid insecticide and herbicides, tractor Zoomlion RK754A Model, Farm Tillers and Planters, water pumping machines, Knosack sprayers, improved varieties of millet, beans, maize and rice situated for the climatic condition of the constituency”. The Lawmaker said.

Hon. Zanna also said, “this initiative is to compliment efforts of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima under Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Let me also appreciate the efforts of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state towards revamping the agricultural sector and the security agencies, especially frontline troops of the Joint Task Force North East ‘Operation HADIN KAI’ whose sacrifices in restoring peace, have enable farmers to engage into farming activities”. He stated.

The lawmaker urged beneficiaries to make effective use of the items to improve food production and advised them to avoid the temptation of early selling of their farm produce, especially to middlemen, who often purchased them at cheap rates, only to sell them out at high rates to make huge profits.

Earlier, the member representing Gubio at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Gubo Moruma who spoke on behalf of other members representing Magumeri and Kaga state constituency, lauded Hon. Zanna for always prioritizing the people at the grassroots, and pledged their unflinching support and loyalty to the Federal Lawmaker at all times.

In their vote of thanks, the Executive Chairmen of Magumeri, Gubio and Kaga local government areas, Dr. Ali Yaumi, Hon. Mali Bulama Mali and Hon. Zanna Ajimi, including a stakeholder, Mallam Modu Kangarbe
who were so elated on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the Lawmaker for the kind gesture and urged other politicians to emulate him.

They said the farm inputs would go a long way to inspire them to do more in agriculture which will consequently help the economy of the constituency and the state at large.

Also in attendance were APC House of Assembly 2027 Candidates, Hon. Bukar Daima of Kaga LGA, Hon. Mohammed Bukar Kolo For Magumeri LGA among other stakeholders.
