Lagos-born designer Jumoke Adijat Kolawole is expanding her brand, Assurance by Jummy, beyond Nigeria as African fashion gains traction in international markets.
Kolawole, founder and Creative Director of the label, said her collections merge African heritage with contemporary design to serve women who value culture, quality, and sophistication. The brand has built recognition locally for designs that balance tradition with modern silhouettes.
She is now targeting international growth through partnerships and appearances on major fashion platforms across Europe and other global markets. The move reflects a broader shift as African designers move from local acclaim to commercial positions in the global fashion economy.
“By bridging African creativity with global opportunities, designers like Kolawole are reshaping how international fashion perceives and sources talent from the continent,” industry observers note.
With Assurance by Jummy, Kolawole joins a new generation of Nigerian creatives positioning African aesthetics as both cultural expression and viable global business.
