Former Senate Minority Leader and All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Philip Aduda, has expressed support for President Bola Tinubu, saying ongoing infrastructure projects across the territory are clear evidence of the Renewed Hope Agenda taking shape in the FCT.

Aduda said this during the celebration of his 57th birthday on Saturday in Abuja.

Speaking on the political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, Aduda said the APC and its supporters in the FCT were fully committed to ensuring President Tinubu’s victory.

Aduda praised the ongoing projects being executed across Abuja and the satellite towns, saying residents were witnessing tangible evidence of governance.

He said, “My message to the people of FCT is for us to key into the renewed hope agenda of Mr President, following suit on what Nyesom Wike, the Honourable Minister of the FCT is doing well, indeed our hope in the FCT has been renewed and that’s why there has been alignment and realignment.”

Speaking on his ambition to return to the Senate, Aduda promised to work for the prosperity of FCT residents and support policies that would improve their welfare.

He said, “But I want to say with a lot of optimism that the FCT Minister is already doing well and we’ll just kick into that agenda, the renewed agenda of Mr. President; The people of the FCT should expect the same move in the Senate by the grace of God Almighty.”

Former FCT Senator, Isa Maina, who attended the event, described Aduda as a grassroots politician with deep community ties, noting that his growth in public life reflects his connection with the people and consistency in political engagement.

He said the large turnout at the celebration was a clear indication of Aduda’s popularity across the territory.

Wife of the celebrant, Hauwa Philip Aduda, expressed gratitude for her husband’s life and career, praying for his continued service to the nation.

She also reaffirmed confidence in his return to the Senate, while calling on women across the FCT to remain politically active and ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of future elections.

She said, “Women are the largest voters.

“And I want to advise every woman to please make sure you get your PVC.

“Your PVC is your weapon. Not for war, but to elect a leader.”
