The All Progressives Congress (APC) Mandate Group in Ondo State has described the party’s candidate for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Engineer Rasaq Obe, as a credible grassroots mobiliser with strong political appeal ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group also said Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s pledge of one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the state is “realistic and achievable” with the emergence of strong candidates like Obe.
In a statement issued in Akure by its Director of Media, Emmanuel Ojo, the group said Obe’s background as an activist, unionist, and public office holder makes him a “formidable force” in the constituency.
According to the group, “the pledge by the governor is not only achievable but highly realistic with the fielding of credible candidates who possess strong grassroots appeal and mobilisation capacity.”
It added that Obe’s candidacy represents a “strategic pathway” to delivering a decisive victory for the APC in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency.
The group said Obe’s influence extends beyond his immediate constituency, describing him as a politically active figure with a broad support base across Ondo State.
As part of its mobilisation plan, the group directed its members across the 20 wards in Idanre/Ifedore to intensify grassroots engagement ahead of the elections.
It expressed confidence that the APC would record what it described as a “massive victory” in 2027, projecting over 90 percent voter mobilisation in the area.
The group also declared its full support for the APC presidential campaign, insisting that the party’s dominance in the state would be reinforced through strong local candidates.
“It is Tinubu O’clock, and Idanre/Ifedore will obey for Rasaq Obe,” the statement added.
