…organises awareness walk in Abuja

ABUJA – THE Alumni Association of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, AANI, has disclosed the 46th Annual General Meeting will focus on insecurity challenges along with state police and community police.

This was made known by AANI’s National President, Amb Emmanuel Okafor, mni, while maintaining that the Association remains an embodiment of seasoned intellectuals, core professionals, patriots who are concerned about national issues, and are out to profer solution to move the nation forward.

The theme for the AGM is ‘State Police and Community Policing: Challenges, Options and Opportunities’, and will hold on April 18,2026, and on the heels of the AGM, concrete resolutions and policies to reverse the current tide of worrisome insecurity is expected.

He said: “We are bound by a shared vision to build a better society. AANI will continue to provide strategic insights and policy solutions to address national challenges.

“Security is everyone’s responsibility. While we commend our security agencies, greater support is critical to strengthening their capacity.

“As we interrogate the concept of state police and community policing, our goal is to deliver practical, forward-looking policy recommendations.”

Meanwhile, AANI organised an awareness walk in Abuja, ahead of the AGM, which the National Publicity Secretary, AANI, Engr. Ifeanyi Jude Ngama, mni, explained that the awareness walk signals a renewed drive to re-position the association at the forefront of national discourse.

“This is beyond conversation. The AGM and colloquium will produce actionable solutions to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture”, Ngama said.

The awareness walk attracted a diverse cross-section of members from across the country, including former presidents of the association, serving and retired military officers, and members of various Senior Executive Courses, including SEC 9/1987.
