A UK-based Nigerian technology professional, Adedapo Idris Morenigbade, is set to launch Blishcrown, a skill-based competitive gaming platform aimed at redefining online gaming through fairness, transparency, and community-driven engagement.

Blishcrown is inspired by Nigeria’s once-thriving physical game centre culture, where competitive gaming was regulated by informal but effective systems that rewarded skill over financial advantage. The platform seeks to digitise this structure and make it accessible to a global audience.

According to Morenigbade, the platform was shaped by his formative years at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), where game centres served as hubs for competition and social interaction.

“Those environments operated on clear rules and accountability. Skill determined outcomes, and community enforced fairness. Blishcrown is an attempt to translate that model into a scalable digital platform,” he said.

Morenigbade brings a multidisciplinary background to the venture, having worked across technology, trading, and manufacturing in Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom in 2022. He currently works as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, with experience in building and testing digital products for scale and reliability.

Before Blishcrown, he explored a fintech product focused on trust-based transactions. While the project did not progress to full deployment, it informed his understanding of product-market fit and user-centric design.

Blishcrown positions itself within the fast-growing global gaming market by offering structured, skill-first competitions that allow players to earn prestige and rewards based strictly on performance. The platform also adopts a build-in-public strategy, sharing its development process to foster transparency and early community trust.

With preparations for launch underway, Blishcrown aims to tap into Africa’s youthful gaming population while connecting them to a global competitive ecosystem.
