Triona Uwem, the award-winning Nigerian author, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur, is redefining what it means to move from pageantry to purpose. Best known for her reigns in multiple national and international beauty competitions, Triona has leveraged her platform to inspire countless young Africans through her writing and public speaking.

Hailing from Akwa Ibom State, Triona speaks several indigenous languages, including Hausa, Yoruba, and Fulani, reflecting her deep connection to Nigeria’s diverse culture. She is the author of Adventures of Relviana and the poem I Want to Be a Queen, works that have captivated readers with compelling storytelling and transformative messages.

Triona’s journey began in the world of pageantry, with titles such as Miss Tourism Nigeria 2014, Miss Nigeria 2015, Face of Africa 2016 (2nd Runner-up), Miss Goodwill Ambassador 2016, Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2017, and Miss Earth Nigeria 2020. She cites competing in Miss Nigeria 2015 and MBGN 2017 as her proudest accomplishments. Yet, for Triona, her greatest achievement lies in impacting others beyond the stage.
“My philosophy has always been that when life offers you a lemon, you have two choices: either lick it as it is or make a refreshing lemonade and enjoy it with a smile, adding ice cubes for convenience,” Triona shares. “This mindset has guided me through challenges and keeps me focused on creating meaningful experiences for others.”
Through her brand, Queenspiration with HRH, and her entrepreneurial venture, Lick Fingers, Triona has created platforms that empower women and encourage youth to pursue their goals. She emphasizes authenticity, consistency, and a genuine desire to serve as the keys to lasting impact.

Triona hopes her story inspires newcomers in every field to stay persistent. “If life doesn’t offer you a seat at the high table, hew your own wood and build a towering table with extra chairs,” she advises. With this mindset, she continues to combine creativity, leadership, and inspiration, proving that beauty is only the beginning of her influence.
