Barr. Loyibo’s Passing a Monumental Loss to Delta, Nigeria — APC

BURUTU — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has expressed its condolences to the Traditional Prime Minister of Tuomo Kingdom in Delta and Bayelsa states, High Chief Mike Loyibo, Esq., following the death of his elder brother, Chief (Barr.) Lucky Ekayama Loyibo (JP).

In a condolence message issued by the state leadership of the party and signed by its Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., the APC described the passing of Barr. Loyibo as a monumental loss, not only to his immediate family but also to Delta State and the nation at large.

The party noted that the late Chief Lucky Ekayama Loyibo was an accomplished legal practitioner, statesman and community leader whose life was defined by service, integrity and commitment to justice and development.

According to the APC, Barr. Loyibo distinguished himself in various areas of public service, from local government administration to national assignments, including roles within the National Assembly and the Presidential Amnesty Programme. The party added that his contributions reflected a deep understanding of the Niger Delta issues and demonstrated strong leadership qualities.

The statement further recalled his final public service role at the Delta State Judiciary Service Commission, where he was said to have reaffirmed his dedication to the rule of law, institutional integrity and professionalism.

Describing him as a proud son of Tuomo Kingdom and the Ijaw nation, the APC noted that his traditional titles—Amatelemowei of Obotebe Kingdom and Ebikonbo-owei of Tuomo Kingdom—symbolised a life devoted to the defence and advancement of his people.

The party acknowledged that the loss was deeply personal to High Chief Mike Loyibo and the entire family, stating that the vacuum left by the late Barr. Loyibo would be difficult to fill.

The APC prayed for strength and fortitude for the Loyibo family and the Tuomo Kingdom, urging them to draw comfort from the enduring legacy of service and honour left behind by the deceased.

The party also prayed that the soul of the departed leader rest in peace.
