The people of Ogbinbiri Federated Community have been urged to sustain love, peace, and unity among themselves as a pathway to collective progress and development.

The call was made in a thank-you message jointly signed by the Chairman of the Welfare Committee, Ogbinbiri Federated Community, High Chief Kari Ebipade, and the committee’s Secretary, Comrade Shagari Sobo, following the successful celebration of the 16th edition of the Ogbinbiri National Day.

In the statement, the community expressed profound gratitude to the Chairman of the occasion, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Engr. Kestin Ebimobowei Pondi; the Father of the Day, High Chief Barr. Macdonald Igbadiwei, Traditional Prime Minister of Ijaw Gbaraun, Bayelsa State; and other dignitaries for their contributions to the success of the event.

According to the statement made available to Vanguard, the celebration was marked by cultural pride, unity, and a strong sense of shared heritage, as sons and daughters of Ogbinbiri from within and outside the country came together in solidarity.

“The Great Ogbinbiri National Day was celebrated with deep honour, cultural pride, and unity across borders. Sons and daughters in the diaspora, alongside people from different communities and kingdoms, came together to appreciate humanity and our shared heritage,” the statement read.

The community described the National Day as a movement for peace-building, community development, and the harmonisation and reintegration of cultural values among coastal people.

“Most profound was the reunion that brought joy through songs, dances, and the colourful attire of our women and men, vividly showcasing our cultural identity,” the statement added.

The leadership appreciated all committees involved in organising the event, noting that their dedication ensured its success. Special commendation was also extended to High Chief Promise Lawuru, the Ozigizaga, for what was described as outstanding leadership within the Ogbinbiri Community and Egbema Kingdom.

The statement further expressed gratitude for the success of the Ogbinbiri National Day 2026 celebration, giving thanks to God for making the event possible.

Special appreciation was extended to the Chairman of the Day, High Chief Engr. Kestin Ebimobowei Pondi; the Father of the Day, High Chief Barr. Macdonald Igbadiwei; the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor; Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Chief Lucky Youbogha; Mr. Matthew Tonlagha; Hon. Ashima Festus; Chief Simeon Bebenimibo; Chief Fezigha Odu; members of the Ogbinbiri National Day Central Working Committee; and other distinguished guests who honoured the occasion.

“Your presence added value, dignity, and encouragement to the celebration. Despite your busy schedules, your decision to stand with us will not be forgotten,” the statement noted.

The community concluded by praying for continued unity, peace, and development, while expressing appreciation to all individuals and groups who supported the celebration in various ways.

“As we move forward in unity, may God bless us all as we continue to build communities anchored on peace, development, and better living. We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the success of this celebration,” the statement said.
