The Vice Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Lagos State, Comrade Sadiq Adams, has given bursary to five students of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology, LASUSTECH, Ikorodu, to help assist in their academic pursuit.

Each of the students got N50,000, which Adams described as his own way of assisting students to achieve their dreams of academic excellence devoid of financial stress.

Speaking on the occasion, Adams, aka Kiakia, noted that education remains a powerful tool for shaping the future of any society.

“Education remains the most powerful tool for shaping the future of any society. In line with this belief and as part of a sustained commitment to student development, I, as the  Vice Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Lagos State, is making my own contribution to helping five deserving students of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) achieve their dreams,” he said.

Speaking on the initiative, Adams emphasized that the programme was part of a broader commitment to the student community, one that prioritizes academic growth, access to opportunities, and the overall welfare of Nigerian students.

According to him, empowering students academically today is an investment in leadership, innovation, and national development tomorrow.

The beneficiaries, Adenola David Oluwafemi , Salami Priscilla Wuraola, Wekpa ThankGod Nelson, Rantilola Olamide Afsat  and Sadiq Olashile Mubarak were selected based on merit and need, and they expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and inspiring.

They noted that the gesture would significantly support their academic journey and encourage them to give back to the society in the future.

The award reinforces NANS’ role not only as a representative body, but also as an active driver of positive change within the student community.

It reflects a leadership style anchored on service, impact, resolve and results.

As the Vice Chairman continues to champion initiatives that uplift students, this gesture stands as a clear reminder that student leadership can extend beyond advocacy to tangible actions that transform lives—one student at a time.
