NIQS President pledges commitment to professional excellence, national service in New Year

As the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) ushers in a new year, its President, QS Dr. Aminu Muhammed Bashir, FNIQS, has reaffiliation to professional excellence, ethical practice, inter-generational knowledge transfer, and national service.

In his New Year address, Dr. Bashir emphasised the importance of collaboration and shared purpose in delivering projects that truly serve society. “Together, through collaboration and shared purpose, we can deliver projects that truly serve society,” he declared, highlighting the potential for collective impact in the nation’s built environment sector.

The NIQS President’s commitment to professional excellence is rooted in the Institute’s mission to promote the highest standards of professionalism and expertise in quantity surveying. “As President of the Institute, my leadership for the 2025–2027 period is anchored on advocacy, capacity development, innovation, and collaboration,” Dr. Bashir stated, outlining the Institute’s strategic priorities for the next two years.

The NIQS President’s address was marked by a sense of optimism and hope for the future of the nation’s built environment sector. “Effective cost management is not an optional extra — it is a strategic necessity,” Dr. Bashir emphasized, adding that the Institute remains committed to professional excellence, ethical practice, inter-generational knowledge transfer, and national service.

As the Institute moves forward, Dr. Bashir wished Nigerians a prosperous, fulfilling, and impactful New Year. “May it be a year of sound decisions, responsible investments, and sustainable growth,” he prayed, expressing his optimism for a brighter future for the nation’s built environment sector.
